Who Am I?

I am Chalena C. (Chihuahua) Ramsay, One Little Dog!

For nearly seven years I have been an important member of the Ramsay family! I do not like to think about, and indeed have never talked to anyone about, my life before the STARS rescued me for the Ramsays. I am adopted! 

After Jack Ramsay's heart surgery and near-death experiences, he told Karin he thought he would like a pet. On National Pet Adoption Day, May 6, 2000, she suggested they visit a nearby pet store and look over the possibilities. Jack thought a cat might be the best house pet for him. He tried to pet one that was up for adoption. The animal turned toward him and snarled and hissed. Jack was about ready to give up when Karin and he found themselves in a back room of the store where animals were being displayed by a group who called themselves The STARS, an acronym for Saving The Animal Rescue Society.

Suddenly Karin found me, a small auburn-haired dog, in her arms. One of the rescue group members suggested that they take me for a walk around the store. They did and I put on a real show for them. I did not just walk: I strutted.

A few minutes later they were paying the fee and signing the papers that would make me a member of the Ramsay family! I am a Longhaired Chihuahua that had been rescued from the Fort Worth Pound and had been given the name "Lena". Karin found the name "Chalena", a Hispanic name that meant "A Bundle of Joy". They decided the new name fit, for I had already proved that I could bring laughter and love into their house. When they noticed that "Lena" was the last part of "ChaLena" they renamed me. My full name now is Chalena Chihuahua Ramsay.

As the new member of the Ramsay household I immediately took charge. The rest is HISTORY, which is the reason I am now the BOSS at HISTORICAL RESOURCES PRESS.

Yep! Yep! Karin and Jack work hard for doggie kisses. I like their books.
